Faculty Salary Data by College by Discipline MSU/SUG Faculty Salary Data by College by Discipline 1999/2000-2008/2009 Mission of the Southern University Group The Southern University Group is organized to provide a forum for the exchange of information on university management and planning, to exchange comparative data, and to exchange other ideas or materials that are of potential interest to the administration of the universities that belong. The membership of SUG is comprised of major research and land-grant universities in the region of the Southern Regional Education Board. The organization meets twice a year: once in conjunction with the Association for Institutional Research and once with the Southern Association for Institutional Research. Throughout the year individual members communicate with each other to exchange information and to answer questions on topics of interest. Several data exchanges are conducted on a yearly basis, for example, a salary exchange; a faculty teaching load exchange; collection of IPEDS reports; collection of information on graduate stipends; new freshmen retention; salary of department heads and other.
